It is calculated using the weight derived from household consumption expenditure on goods and services and the actual prices of goods and services collected from the field. \nThe average of all these prices is reported for each state and the total average for the states, is the average for the country.  \nNBS audit team subsequently conducts randomly selected verification of prices
